Getting Here From Kent
We are not in Kent — we are in Tukwila, and for most Kent pet parents that is the whole trade-off worth understanding. You drive a little further than the closest kennel, and in exchange you get a wider drop-off window, staff on site overnight, and cats housed away from dogs. Here is the honest version so you can decide.
Drive times are estimates outside peak traffic. Southbound I-5 and WA-167 both back up in the evening — if you are picking up after work, our 9PM close means you do not have to race it.
When We Are Not the Right Choice
A boarding facility is not right for every pet. If your dog is genuinely reactive around other dogs, if your cat is elderly and does badly with any change of environment, or if you would simply rather someone came to your house in Kent, an in-home sitter is the better option and we will say so on the phone. We would rather lose the booking than take a pet that will have a bad week.

What Pet Parents Say
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from Kent pet parents
Is there a PawsVIP location in Kent?
No — and we would rather say so plainly. Our nearest facility is at 15848 Tukwila International Blvd in Tukwila, about 15 minutes from downtown Kent via WA-167 and I-5. Many of our regulars drive in from Kent East Hill, Covington and Maple Valley because our 5AM–9PM hours are wider than most facilities closer to home.
How much does dog boarding cost for Kent pet parents?
Dog boarding starts at $64.99/night and cat boarding starts at $29.99/night. There is no Kent-specific surcharge. Multi-night discounts are available, and most medications and special diets are handled at no extra charge.
Do you board cats as well as dogs?
Yes. Cat boarding starts at $29.99/night, and our cat suites are kept completely separate from the dog areas — their own quiet rooms away from dog noise and activity.
Do you offer dog daycare, or only overnight boarding?
Both. Dog daycare is available by the full or half day with the same 5AM–9PM drop-off window, which is why it works for Kent commuters heading north on I-5. Overnight boarding and daycare can be combined in the same visit.
Can my dog be groomed during a boarding stay?
Yes. Grooming and bathing can be added to any boarding or daycare visit so your dog goes home clean. If you only need grooming without a stay, see our dedicated Kent grooming page.
Do you offer pet sitting or dog walking in Kent?
No, and this is worth being clear about. We are a boarding facility, not an in-home service — we do not send sitters or walkers to your house in Kent. If your pet genuinely does better at home, an in-home sitter is the right choice and we would rather you book one. Facility boarding suits pets who do well around other animals and owners who want staff on site 24/7 rather than drop-in visits.
What do I need to bring for a first stay?
Current vaccination records, your pet's own food for the length of the stay, and any medications in their original packaging. Bringing familiar food avoids stomach upset from a sudden switch. We will walk you through the rest when you book.
